Just completed a wonderful trip to D.C. to the AAAS Fellows Forum and a visit to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. I was honored to be elected a AAAS Fellow and enjoyed participating in the Fellows Forum, celebrating the new Fellows at the 150th Anniversary of the program. It was thrilling to share this honor with the other eight new Fellows, including Dante Lauretta, a friend and colleague at LPL. The AAAS has been a powerful force work towards a better world through the advancement of science and I am excited to be part of this mission. The ceremony was followed by a gala in the beautiful National Building Museum in D.C., where the AAAS Fellows could meet and mingle, and enjoy amazing panel discussions with leading thinkers and scientific luminaries, and thoughts on science and progress from NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan.
